乐队成立于1997年7月。

风格以敲击死亡金属为主。乐队音乐追求整体速度与力度，其不乏旋律性。

作品主题表现多角度的内容，具有很强的人文色彩，以金属的手法演择自己所表达的人生观是乐队一直奋斗的目标。

乐队从04年7月，05年2月更换了鼓手和一名吉他手后又开始了新的旅程，现在乐队无论从创作的作品还是技术都日见成熟。在乐队走过的不短的8年时间里也得到了诸多媒体的认可，包括《音乐生活报》，《我爱摇滚乐》，《通俗歌曲》，《重型音乐》，《城市周报》，《THAT‘BEIJING》等平面媒体，以及凤凰卫视，日本NHK电视台等的各种媒体的报道。也参与了《我爱摇滚乐》，ADP唱片，MORT唱片等单曲的录制工作。

8年时间，对于任何一支乐队来说都是一段艰辛又难忘的历程，在这期间“窒息”乐队相继参加了北京，天津，深圳，安徽，河南，廊坊，承德，怀柔，大兴。。。无数场各种各样的演出主要有：“河南新乡呐喊中国摇滚音乐会”，“安徽蚌埠音乐节”，“怀柔会议中心音乐节”，“大兴拿铁音乐节”，“北京迷迪音乐节”，“炫特区朝阳公园音乐节”等大小演出。
