名词解释:单板吉他及合板吉他
这是木吉他最低的一个的档次。这类吉他的面板、背侧板采用木质较硬的三合板（三合板你知道是什么吧？）构成。用来做吉他的三合板一般都是：玫瑰木三合板、桃花芯木三合板等。用三合板做出的吉他音色一般，而且没有什么发展，一般做练习之用。
二．面单板吉他
面板采用实木制作；背侧板依然采用三合板。音色比全三合板的吉他好些。
三．面单板吉他升级版（^_^ 我自己的叫法）
面板、背板采用实木制作，侧板用三合板，很少有（但是也有）面板、侧板用实木、背板用三合板做吉他的。音色又会好一个档次。
四．全单板吉他
面板、背侧板均采用实木制成的吉他，这种吉他音质上要比三合板吉他好的很多，音色浑厚、质感很好而且有发展。而且经过演奏者一段时期的演奏（开声），它的木材对声音会更加敏感，音色会越来越好。
五．独板吉他
这是木吉他最高的一个档次，制作工艺上复杂，保养起来也特别困难。其实也是全单板吉他的升级版，呵呵…… 他就是在制作的时候不是采用拼合工艺，而是整块木板切割、定型…… 一般是高级的演奏会用吉他才会这么做（价钱上我辈是望尘莫及的）。它从音质、音色、音量上来说是前几种吉他无法相比的。
如何判定吉他是不是单板，一般利用音孔就可以判断面板：
观察音孔的内边缘，如果面板是单板，就会看到木纹自然延音孔内侧延伸。 如果看到两层以上，就是合板的。但如果油漆过深，则不好发现。至于背侧板，先观察背面，然后再通过音孔看内部（与背部同一个点）。内外两点的纹理应该相称，如果不相配，就是合板；侧板也是这个方法测，但肯定比较费力。另外，如果上了浓重的漆，就不好判断了。
以上内容是指其他任何条件相同的情况下，单就木材的单板与否而区别好坏，实际上根据所用的木材、木材自然风干的时间、制作者的设计、制作工艺等等，所制作出来的吉他是各有优劣的。
